How is TENA installed?
By an electrician, on the DIN rail inside your existing distribution board. Critical equipment such as motors and compressors is connected through dedicated hardwired circuits, never through plug-in sockets.
Do I still need surge protection?
Yes. A surge arrester is necessary and TENA does not replace it. It monitors your arrester, tells you when it has failed, and records the events that reached your property.
What happens if I stop paying for the plan?
Protection keeps working. All protection settings, safe restoration, the on-device event log, local viewing and the surge arrester alert are free for as long as the device is installed. Cloud history, monthly reports, push alerts, remote support and claim packs are part of the plan.
What does it cost?
R10,000 installed for commercial, industrial and body corporate sites, and R5,500 installed for residential homes. Both include delivery, installation, 24 months of monitoring software and a 24-month full money-back guarantee. After that the plan is R400 per month for commercial sites and R100 per month for homes.

Can the record be edited or disputed?
Events are timestamped on the device and stored off-site as they happen. If the device is ever bypassed, that period is marked in the record as not measured and you are notified, so the record never silently shows something it did not see.
Can TENA tell me what damaged my equipment?
It documents what electrical event reached your property, and when. That is often exactly what an insurer or supplier needs to see, but it does not claim to establish what caused a particular failure.
Does it work in sectional title schemes?
Yes, for the scheme itself, through the managing agent. At the main incomer TENA monitors and records; it does not switch the building. Named common plant such as lifts, pumps and gates can be protected on dedicated circuits. We do not currently offer it for individual apartments.
